HANOVER, Ind. – Tail of two games for the Panthers as they walk-off Wilmington in game one before dropping game two in a error plagued decision.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
Wilmington captured the one run advantage in the top of the third inning before a
Sydney Foy RBI to left field scored sophomore
Ashley Fulton to knot the contest 1-1 through four complete.
The sixth inning saw the Blue and Red erase a two run deficit, with
Claire King providing the clutch hit. The freshman singled to center field scoring both Foy and Bailey, 3-3.
Bailey secured the walk-off victory for the Panthers in the bottom of the seventh inning as she tripled to right center scoring freshman
Bri Stow, 4-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Sophomore
Lulu Van Beek pitched a complete game scattering three runs on four hits with five strikeouts.
GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Quakers used a one hit one run first inning to secure the early lead.
However, a Wilmington error in the bottom of the third inning on a freshman
Karsyn Naue hard hit ball to third base, scored King from second base 1-1.
The Panthers became rattled in the fourth inning as a domino effect of errors over the next two innings saw them on the wrong end of an 11-1 decision.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 28 when they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action welcoming Mount St, Joseph to Kops-Bedel Stadium.
