Hanover Hits Homer to Earn Split at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Hanover (9-17 overall, 1-5 HCAC) hit the road for Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday competing at Manchester, splitting the doubleheader with a game one win 7-2 before dropping game two 5-4.
 
GAME ONE
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Freshman Morgan Bailey went 3-for-4 with one run scored and three RBI.
 
Freshman Claire King added two RBI with one hit.
 
In the circle, Lulu Van Beek pitched a complete game striking out three and allowing just two runs.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover struck first in the top of the first inning on a Bailey homer, 1-0.
 
They added to their run total in the third inning with King collecting a double RBI.
 
The big inning came in the fourth inning as Bailey continued her stellar day with a pair of singles that collected two RBI.
 
GAME TWO
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Freshman Karsyn Naue went 1-for-3 at the dish with three RBI.
 
Sophomore Addison Smith and King added two hits apiece combining for two runs score.
 
Hanover returns to action on Sunday when they welcome Anderson to Kop-Bedel Stadium at 1:00 PM.
