TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Panthers (11-25 overall) forced extras in doubleheader battle at Rose-Hulman on Wednesday evening.
GAME ONE
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Sophomore
Ashley Fulton led the Panthers in game one going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
Freshman
Morgan Bailey finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk.
Lulu Van Beek pitched six complete innings with six strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bailey plated the game's first run in the top of the first inning as she scored sophomore
Addison Smith. Fulton extended the Panther lead ripping a two RBI double to left, 3-0.
The final run of the inning came off the bat of freshman
Claire King, 4-0.
However, Rose-Hulman slowly dwindled the lead getting two runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth inning to tie the contest 4-4.
They claimed the lead in the fifth inning before adding an insurance run in the sixth inning en route to the win.
GAME TWO
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Freshman
Niecy Reyna went 2-for-3 at the dish with a run scored and an RBI.
Fulton secured the teams only other RBI going 1-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. She also got the start in the circle throwing seven and two third innings with four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rose-Hulman secured a 2-0 lead through the second inning that they protected late into the night cap.
Hanover plated a run in the sixth inning as Fulton singled up the middle, scoring Reyna, 2-1. The next inning saw Reyna secure an RBI, knotting the game 2-2.
The Panthers captured the lead in the eighth inning when Rose-Hulman used a two run outburst to secure the victory.
