DANVILLE, Ky. - The Hanover College men's soccer team turned in a complete performance Tuesday evening, defeating Centre College 2-0 at Amend Field.

The Panthers entered the non-conference matchup following a 2-2 draw with Asbury on Saturday, while Centre was coming off a 2-0 victory over Denison.

Hanover wasted little time establishing the attack. The Panthers broke through in the 10th minute when Gavin Yearwood found the back of the net to give Hanover the early 1-0 advantage.

The Panthers continued to pressure the Centre defense throughout the opening half. Hanover recorded eight shots in the first 45 minutes, placing six on frame. The offensive pressure paid off again in the 43rd minute as Kunal Chawla scored to extend the Panther lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.

Hanover remained in control following the break, producing six more shots with all six finding the target. The Panthers finished the contest with a 14-6 advantage in total shots and a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal. Centre goalkeeper Declan Miller was forced to make 10 saves against the Hanover attack.

On the other end, the Panther defense kept the Colonels off the scoreboard for the full 90 minutes. Dugan Webster recorded four saves in goal to secure the clean sheet.

The victory gives Hanover its second shutout of the season and moves the Panthers to 2-2-3 overall.
