Alec Bates joined the Panther coaching staff in the spring of 2022 serving as an Assistant Coach for the men’s and women’s tennis programs.
Bates competed collegiately as a member of the Hanover men’s tennis team, being named a three-time All-HCAC honoree.
In 2019, he spent a season with the Indiana University Southeast men’s tennis team before transitioning to an assistant coach role in the fall. He helped with recruiting as well as player development, including the development of one of the top women’s players in the history of Indiana University Southeast tennis.
Following his stint at the Indiana University Southeast, Bates also spent one season at the University of Louisville as a volunteer assistant helping to coach the Cards to a victory over no. 9 ranked Virginia.
Bates received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Hanover College before pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Management at Indiana University Southeast.
