Mackenzie Smith enters her second season as a member of the Hanover College Softball coaching staff after transitioning to assistant coach in the fall of 2021.
In her first season with the Panthers, she helped guide the program to a 17-19 overall record and a 10-6 HCAC mark earning the Hanover Coaching Staff HCAC Coach of the Year honors. She also was apart of a program's second consecutive HCAC Tournament berth.

Smith competed collegiately for four seasons as a Panther serving as team captain from 2019 to 2021. During her playing career the starting outfielder helped propel the program to new heights, including a 2021 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament appearance that garnered her All-Conference honors.Â

In the classroom, Smith earned top remarks being named a NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Tom Bohlsen All-Academic recipient.

Smith graduated from Hanover College in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science.
