Ashley (Williams) Blanch joined the Hanover women's basketball staff in the summer of 2021 serving as an assistant coach. In addition to her basketball operational duties, Ashley will also serve as the head coach for the women's basketball development program.
"Ashley separated herself from a very strong candidate pool with her experience in the HCAC," stated John Jones. "She has an incredible personality and will connect well with our current players, as well as possess the traits needed to recruit and retain strong student athletes for Hanover College."
Blanch, a familiar face among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, comes to Hanover after serving as an assistant women's basketball coach at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania for two seasons.
While with the Mountaineers she helped in all aspects of day-to-day operations developing practice plans, leading preseason/postseason/summer workouts, and aided in recruiting efforts. In two seasons, she helped guide the program to its largest roster size in over 10 years.
Prior to her stint with the Mountaineers, she served as a graduate assistant at Anderson University for two seasons where she helped rebuild the Ravens women's basketball program while serving as the lead recruiting coordinator. The Leipsic, Ohio native also helped in several day-to-day aspects from practice planning, film breakdown, to working primarily with the guards and forwards on player development.
Blanch competed collegiately at Defiance College for four seasons, serving as a team captain for three years. While with the Yellow Jackets, she led the HCAC in 3-point percentage her senior campaign at 41.6 percent and finished her career ranked second in school history in 3-point field goals made at 174.
Ashley and her husband Dave reside in Hanover, Ind.
