Richard Warren serves as Associate Vice President for Athletics at Hanover College, bringing more than a decade of progressive leadership experience across intercollegiate athletics, advancement, enrollment management, and executive administration. He is recognized for aligning athletics with institutional mission, strengthening external relationships, and leading with a student-centered, values-driven approach.
In 2026, Warren was named the recipient of the NADIIIAA Transitioning Administrator Award, a national honor recognizing senior athletics administrators whose leadership, vision, and commitment have made a meaningful impact at both the institutional and national levels. The award reflects Warren’s contributions to Hanover College and his broader service to the collegiate athletics community, as well as his readiness to lead at the director level.
Warren was selected as one of 22 administrators nationally for the NCAA Pathways Program (2025–26), the NCAA’s premier leadership development initiative designed to prepare senior administrators for athletic director and conference commissioner roles. He is also a two-time participant in the NACDA Senior Mentoring Institute (2024, 2025), reflecting sustained national recognition of his leadership trajectory.
At Hanover, Warren provides executive oversight across operations, capital projects, fundraising, external relations, and sport supervision. He supports more than 500 student-athletes across 22 varsity programs while co-managing a multi-million-dollar budget. His work includes leading major facility enhancements, strengthening game-day operations and safety protocols, supporting coaches and staff, and advancing a culture rooted in belonging, accountability, and holistic student-athlete development.
Nationally, Warren contributes to the governance of collegiate athletics through service on the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Rules Committee, helping shape policy and competitive standards. He is also a graduate of the NCAA Inclusive Leaders Training Program, reinforcing his commitment to fostering environments grounded in respect, equity, and shared purpose.
Earlier in his career, Warren held leadership roles spanning athletics administration, advancement, admissions, and coaching, providing him with a broad institutional perspective on enrollment strategy, fundraising, compliance collaboration, and student success.
