HANOVER, Ind. – The men's tennis team defeated Midway in a close non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the Zeddies Tennis Center, 5-4.

The Panthers claimed number two doubles as the team of Pablo Gallart and Keith Asplund combined for the 8-4 victory.

In singles action, Landon Carrico claimed two singles 6-1, 7-5, before Asplund took three singles 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.

The Blue and Red, behind the play of Roger Trombley at five singles and Jed Fajt at six singles, would hold off Midway for the home opening victory. Trombley claimed his match 6-4, 6-3, while Fajt won 7-6, 6-4.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, October 4 as they compete at the ITA Central Region Championships.
