SEWANEE, Tenn. – Senior Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) lifted the Blue and Red to victory as the Panthers defeated Sewanee 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

In frame, sophomore Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) tallied 90 minutes of work, improving to 2-2 overall on the season. Carmosino registered eight saves in frame.

Hanover went on the attack early as a shot on frame in the first half was deflected by the Sewanee keeper and was later cleared by the Tiger defensemen. The Panthers would break the scoreless tie late in the first half as Brock capitalized on a penalty kick sending the ball in the upper right of the net to give HC the 1-0 advantage.

The Blue and Red continued to pressure the Tiger defense midway through the second half as back to back shots in the 27th minute were saved by the Sewanee goal keeper. Hanover finished the contest with a game-high nine shots on goal en route to the victory.

The Panthers return to the pitch on Saturday, September 14 as they welcome Wittenberg to campus. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
