Garrison Clinches Men's Tennis Match with Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Hanover men's tennis team opened the spring portion of their schedule with a trip to Thomas More where the Blue and Red defeated the Saints 4-3 Saturday evening.

The match opened with doubles action where Thomas More swept play taking the early 3-0 lead.

But the Panthers would get revenge in singles action as junior Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) took No. 5 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-2 to pull the Blue and Red within 3-1. The excitement continued as senior Landon Carrico (New Albany, Ind.) claimed a victory at No. 2 singles taking down his opponent 6-4, 6-3.

With Hanover closing the gap on the Saints, sophomore Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.) deemed clutch knotting the contest with a win at No. 3 singles 7-6, 6-1. The deciding match came at No 6 singles and the racket of sophomore Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) who proved victorious with a competitive 7-5, 6-3 win.

Hanover returns to action on Friday, February 14 as they take on Piedmont. First serve is scheduled for 7 PM.
