HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team returns to action this week with a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio to take on the Lions of Mt. St. Joseph on Wednesday, January 27, followed by a road trip to Manchester on Saturday, January 30.
LAST MEETING: The last time Hanover and MSJ met, the Panthers claimed the straight set victory (25-17, 27-25, 25-20). Leading the charge was sophomore
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind. / Lawrence North) with a team-high 15 kills. Junior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind. / Marian) also tallied a game-high 36 assists with one service ace.
The Blue and Red also claimed the straight set victory over the Spartans (25-20, 27-25, 25-23). Pacing the way was junior
Emma Rolf (Lebanon, Ind. / Western Boone) and Vance with six kills apiece. Sophomore
Josie McClara (Jamestown, Ind. / Tri-West) added six blocks, while Ketcham tallied 21 assists.
HCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior
Amber Miller (Louisville, Ky. / Presentation Academy) garnered the first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor for the spring 2021 season. Miller led the Panthers in a sweep of Defiance on Saturday afternoon as she tallied a team-best 35 digs, averaging 5.83 digs per set. She also added eight assists.
LEAGUE LEADERS: Ketcham continues to dominate the HCAC as she posted a league lading 7.00 assists per set last week. She tallied a combined 42 assists through six complete sets. McClara also propelled to the top of the charts recording three total blocks averaging a block per set.
