FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team remained perfect in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action as they defeated Franklin, 3-1.
With the win, Hanover moved to 9-3-1 overall, 5-0-0 in the HCAC.
Leading the charge for the Blue and Red was senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with two goals on seven shots. He landed six total attempts on frame.
Senior
Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) put the Panthers on the board first as he found the back of the net in the 3
rd minute sending HC to the 1-0 lead.
In the 5
th minute, Hughes provided his first goal as he extended the advantage to 2-0 before Franklin responded. The Grizzlies cut the deficit to 2-1 at the half after netting a strike in the 27
th minute.
However, Hanover got the final say as Hughes connected on a penalty kick in the 82
nd minute to propel HC to the 3-1 victory.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 when they travel to Defiance. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
