HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a straight set victory over Manchester 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22) on Friday evening. With the win, HC moves to 9-7 overall and 1-0 in the HCAC.
The Panthers were led by junior
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a game-high 11 kills, while senior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) added 32 assists.
The opening set saw the Blue and Red storm ahead as they used a set best 17 kills on 44 total attempts to claim the 25-14 win. Leading the charge was junior
Meredith Deckard (Bedford, Ind.) from behind the service line as she paced a 7-0 rally.
Set two saw the momentum continue for the Blue and Red as back-to-back kills by senior
Maura Dankoski (Fishers, Ind.) pushed HC out front 16-11. They never looked back charting 16 total kills to push the difference to 2-0.
The final set would see Hanover win 25-22 following a strong performance by Ketcham. The senior setter dished out the game's final assist to claim the straight set win.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 6 when they take on Earlham.
