HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday afternoon as they fell to Rose-Hulman 1-0. The Panthers move to 10-4-1 overall and 6-1-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The opening frame saw a very strategic battle with both teams jockeying for position when senior
Fellipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) took a shot from a top the 18-yard box that connected with the cross bar.
Rose-Hulman got a solid look late in the stanza as they took a free kick just outside the box that was cleared by the Panther defense. The Panthers entered the half with the 4-2 margin in shots.
The chess match continued in the second half as both teams picked up the intensity with senior
Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) getting an open look on frame that missed just left.
However, Rose-Hulman got the only strike as a failed Panther clear allowed for the Fightin' Engineers to clean up the loose ball en route to the 1-0 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 23 when they welcome Anderson. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
