HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team soared past Anderson on Saturday afternoon in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action as they defeated the Ravens 3-0.
With the win, Hanover moves to 11-4-1 overall and 7-1-0 in the HCAC. They currently rank second in the league behind unbeaten Rose-Hulman.
The Panthers were paced by senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with three shots, two on frame, and a goal.
The first blow of the afternoon came in the 41
st minute as senior
Sean Fleming (Louisville, Ky.) was able to navigate the Anderson defense en route to the 1-0 lead.
The goals continued to come as freshman
Joao Domenici (Alphaville, Brazil) found the back of the net in the second half taking a pass from senior
Renato Yostsui (Sao Jose De Rio Preto, Brazil) to push the difference to 2-0.
The final strike came in the 82
nd minute as Hughes connected on a penalty kick that propelled HC to the convincing 3-0 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 27 when they wrap-up the regular season with a trip to Mt. St. Joseph. Game time is set for 7 PM.
