KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Hanover men's tennis team competed as part of the ITA Regionals hosted by Kalamazoo College this past weekend.
The Panthers were paced by senior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) who claimed his first match of the tournament over Hope College's number one player by score of 6-3, 6-4. However, his second match of the weekend would see him fall to the racket of number six seed from Washington U St. Louis by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Teammate, sophomore
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) looked to find success as he dropped his first match of the weekend before bouncing back in his opening match of the back draw defeating Rose-Hulman's number one player in a hard fought 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 battle. He bowed out of the tournament in his second match of the back draw falling to the number one player from Capital 6-7, 6-0, 4-10.
In doubles action, junior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) and sophomore Jedrek Brodski (Warsaw, Poland) dropped their opening round match to the number one doubles team from Augustuna College by a score of 8-3.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Case Western Reserve. First serve is slated for 10:00 AM.
