LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Hanover women's tennis team played host to Transylvania on Wednesday afternoon competing inside the Bass Rudd Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Louisville. The Panthers dropped the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match 7-2.
The Blue and Red were led in the match by freshman
Linde Meerpoel (Wolvertem, Belgium) and senior
Cassie Froedge (Louisville, Ky.).
Trailing 3-0 through doubles action, the Panthers looked to rally. Leading the charge was Meerpoel at no. 2 singles as she was able to claim the team's first win by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
The final win came at no. 6 singles as Froedge captured the Panthers final point by a score of 6-4, 6-1.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 9 when they compete at Anderson. First serve is set for noon.
