HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover football team welcomes Franklin College for the playing of the 91st Victory Bell Game.
91st VICTORY BELL: Hanover enters the contest holding the slim 45-42-3 overall record, including winners of the last three meetings. Last season, saw the Panthers claim the convincing 56-21 road victory paced by senior
Shawn Coane (Evansville, Ind.) with three rushing touchdowns for 107 yards.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Panther offense is paced by senior
Matthew Weimer (Georgetown, Ind.) with a season total 13 touchdowns through the air, averaging 223.89 yards per game. On the ground, Coane continues to be the best in the business tallying eight total touchdowns with a team-leading 88.67 yards per contest.
Defensively, Hanover has held opponents to just 4.6 yards per play led by senior
Kyle Treber (Mishawaka, INd.) with 76 total tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss. Junior
Devonte Hardiman (Princeton, Ind.) has added a team-best 8.5 sacks for a combined 42 total yards.
THE LAST MEETING: The last meeting between Hanover and Franklin came in the spring of 2021 when the Panthers defeated the Grizzlies, 56-21. Leading the charge was quarterback,
Matthew Weimer with 281 yards through the air and three touchdowns. Senior
Jared Frank (Louisville, Ky.) appeared to be his top target with six receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
WELCOMING FRANKLIN: The Grizzlies sit at 5-4 overall after falling to Rose-Hulman 38-14. Franklin is paced this season by freshman, quarterback, Dane Andrews with 11 combined touchdowns, averaging 218 yards per game through the air. Freshman Derek Thompson has carried the ground game averaging 5.3 yards per carry with a season total six end zone visits.
