ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Hanover Panthers bowed out of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon after dropping the heartbreaking opening round match-up with Dominican (Ill.), 2-1.

The Blue and Red conclude the outstanding season at 13-2-4 overall, 7-1-1 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Panthers also posted a record setting 24 straight game unbeaten streak.

For their outstanding effort, Hanover also saw two members claim top HCAC honors in senior
Josie Dattilo (Montgomery, Ohio) who was named the Defensive Player of the Year and senior
Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) who was named the Offensive Player of the Year.

Hanover finished the afternoon with eight shots, five of which landed on frame.

The Panthers would strike first in the contest as senior
Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) delt the blow. The senior played a header from teammate senior
Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) in the 15
th minute that she was able to hammer home for the 1-0 advantage.

Hanover was able to take the 1-0 lead into the half before Dominican responded. The Stars found the equalizer late into the second frame as a battered Panther defense surrendered their first goal in the 76-minute, 1-1.

The game-winning goal came with just over two and a half minutes remaining in the contest as the Stars secured the NCAA Tournament advancing victory in regulation.

With the win, Dominican advances to the NCAA opening round championship taking on host Wash. U.
