WOOSTER, Ohio – The Hanover women's basketball team opened play at Wooster this weekend taking on non-conference foe Otterbein, falling in the contest 84-61.
The Panthers were led by
Callie Wilder with a team-high 11 points and nine rebounds. Freshman
Taylor Heath added eight points for the Blue and Red.
The opening half saw the Cardinals surge ahead as a short 6-0 run saw them capture the 14-6 lead. However, Hanover looked to respond as a layup in the paint by freshman
Addie Gardner midway through the second frame saw HC pull within 43-24.
However, the Cardinals carried the momentum late into the second half as they were able to extend their lead before securing the 84-61 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, November 21 taking on Westminster. Tip-off is set for noon.
