HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther wrapped up the 2021 season on Friday evening with a convincing straight set (25-15, 25-15, 25-18) victory over Anderson. With the win, Hanover finished the season with a 12-5 record.
The Panthers got strong contributions across the board, getting team-high kills from sophomore
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.) and freshman
Ella Reed (Lexington, Ky.). Junior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) notched a game-high 27 assists.
The Blue and Red dominated the match from the opening serve as an 8-0 run in set one paced by sophomore
Meredith Deckard (Bedford, Ind.) pushed Hanover out in front 13-3. The Panthers continued to fire on all cylinders as back-to-back kills by Harmon extended the difference. She would go on to secure the set victory off an over pass kill.
Set two saw Hanover use a series of rallies paced by the attack of Reed that put HC in front 18-8. The Panthers never looked back as pair of Anderson miscues and another Reed kill put HC in the driver seat for the straight set win. They claimed the final set 25-18 after an early back-an-forth battle saw the Ravens battle tough.
Anderson finished the contest with 32 kills and 30 total assists.
