HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover College football team travels to Defiance on Saturday at 2:00 PM for their season opener.
 
Visiting fans and general public fans are not permitted to attend HCAC contest this season.
 
HANOVER GAME NOTES:
- The Panthers enter the 2021 spring season as the favorite to three-peat as Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Champions.
 
- The last meeting between these two teams saw the Panthers claim the 42-0 victory at Defiance. Hanover currently holds a four-game win streak dating back to the 2015 campaign and houses a 4-1 road record against the Yellow Jackets.
 
- Last season, the Panthers were paced out of the backfield by senior Shawn Coane (Evansville, Ind.) with 108 total yards on 19 carriers with a touchdown. He finished the afternoon averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
 
- Senior Walt Ballinger (Beech Grove, Ind.) also displayed great success against the Yellow Jacket defensive front getting 10 attempts for 46 yards. He finished the contest averaging 4.6 yards per touch. 
 
DEFIANCE GAME NOTES:
- Defiance enters the weekend match-up at 0-1 overall after falling to Rose-Hulman, 52-6.
 
- The Yellow Jackets were paced by quarterback Daylon Lange who completed15-of-33 passes for 133 yards with a touchdown.
 
- His main target on the afternoon was Terry Geiger hauling in four receptions for 54 yards. He finished the contest averaging 13.5 yards per catch.
