HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover football team welcomes Bluffton on Saturday afternoon as part of the spring 2021 season. The Panthers and Beavers are set to kick-off at 2 PM.
HANOVER GAME NOTES:
- The Panthers enter the contest at 1-0 overall after running past Defiance, 56-12.
- Junior Matt Weimer (Georgetown, Ind.) tallied an impressive afternoon posting a team-high four touchdowns as the starting quarterback.
- Defensively, Hanover was led by freshman
Brody Luker (New Palestine, Ind.) with two interceptions and a touchdown. The freshman charted his first collegiate pick six.
- Senior
Shawn Coane (Evansville, Ind.) continued to dominate the backfield for Hanover as he tallied 67 yards on 13 carries.
- The Panther offense currently ranks as the best in the HCAC averaging a league-best 56.0 ppg, while also claiming the top spot defensively surrendering just 12 points.
- Weimer, after one outing, ranks as the top scoring threat among HCAC student-athletes. The junior leads the conference in scoring (24.00 ppg) and scoring (4 TD's).
BLUFFTON GAME NOTES:
- The Beavers enter the weekend at 3-0 overall after defeating Anderson, 35-27.
- Leading the way for BU was HCAC Athlete of the Week, Montez Archer Jr. Archer claimed both the HCAC Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week.
- Bluffton enters the contest averaging 37.3 ppg with 13 touchdowns scored.
- The last meeting between these two programs saw the Panthers claim the 28-10 victory at home.
