Eric LaRue claimed his 100
th career win as a men's coach with the Panthers victory over Bethel on Wednesday afternoon, 6-3.
In doubles action, junior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) and senior
Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) secured the early victory claiming no. 3 doubles 8-5.
The momentum carried into singles play as freshman
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) found success at no. 2 singles defeating his opponent 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Teammate, freshman
Rodolfo Jacome (Guayas, Ecuador) also claimed a win taking his no. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-4.
The Panthers went on to sweep the remaining singles matches as junior
Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.) won no. 4 singles in a three-set thriller, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
Trombley claimed no. 5 singles 6-1, 6-4 while senior
Jed Fajt (Greencastle, Ind.) secured the 100
th career victory for LaRue winning his match 7-5, 6-3.
LaRue claimed his first victory in 2012 during his time at Tennessee Wesleyan defeating King College. His 100
th career win as a women's head coach came in 2018.
The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, April 3 at Franklin.
