HANOVER, Ind. – The men's basketball team will begin their quest for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title on Wednesday evening as they welcome no. 6-seed Defiance to Collier Arena. The Panthers will compete as the no. 3-seed throughout the tournament. The seeding was based on a blind draw conducted by the league office.
HCAC TOURNAMENT: Under head coach
Jon Miller, the Panthers have had great success in the HCAC Tournament. In the last five seasons they have claimed three HCAC tournament titles, while competing as part of the tournament every year.
LAST MEETING: The last time these two teams met Hanover captured the 88-76 victory. Prior to the Panthers loss at Defiance a season ago, the Blue and Red held a seven-game win streak including three home victories.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: Senior
Mark Albers enters the week as the top scorer for the Panthers averaging a team-best 15.3 ppg. Teammate, senior
Connor Washburn continues to dominate the glass pulling in a team-high 5.5 rpg, as well as averaging 1.45 blocks per outing.
