Second half goal lifts Women's Soccer past Anderson

Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – The Panthers improve to 2-0 overall on the season after defeating Anderson on Saturday afternoon, 2-1.

The Panthers were led in the game by freshman Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) and junior Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) with one goal apiece.

Hanover wasted little time getting on the board as Reeves found the back of the net just 11 minutes into the contest, 1-0. However, the Ravens responded moments later beating the Panther defense to tie the score. The two teams carried the tie into the break.

The second half saw the Panthers pressure the net early as Hughes wasted little time finding the go ahead goal off a corner kick by Reeves, 2-1. They continued on the attack late into the half as freshman Cassidy Lett (Walton, Ky.) hit a shot that landed just left of frame. Junior Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) looked to find another dagger as she recorded a shot moments later that was saved by the Ravens keeper. Hanover would go on to tally seven shots in total, with four landing on frame.

The Blue and Red return to action on Tuesday, March 9 when they welcome Transylvania to campus. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
