Men's Tennis battles tough in exhibition match with Ind.-Southeast

Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's tennis team welcomed Ind.-Southeast to campus on Sunday afternoon for an exhibition contest that saw them drop a tough 7-2 match.

The Panthers were led in doubles play by the no. 2 team of freshman Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and junior Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.). The duo claimed Hanover's first victory of the afternoon as they defeated their opponents 8-5.

No. 1 doubles saw a hard-fought battle as the team of freshman Rodolfo Jacome (Guayas, Ecuador) and junior Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) dropped the competitive match, 8-6. Senior Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) and junior Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) faced similar results as they too dropped a heart-breaker 8-6.

However, his teammates didn't go down without a fight as Keal played his no. 2 singles match to a third set. He dropped set one 7-6 (7-1), before tying the set 6-1. He would ultimately fall in the third set 7-5.

In no. 1 singles, Gallart registered a strong showing dropping set one 6-3 before falling in a tight set two 7-5.
