HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's tennis team claimed a hard fought 4-3 victory on Monday afternoon over NAIA foe Midway.
Hanover opened the match claiming the doubles point as the team of junior
Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and junior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) captured no. 2 doubles in exciting fashion defeating Midway 7-6.
The momentum carried into no. 3 doubles as the team of senior
Jed Fajt (Greencastle, Ind.) and senior
Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) captured the 6-0 win to give HC the 1-0 lead entering singles play.
The Panthers secured the victory in singles action as Asplund captured no. 3 singles in a hard fought three set battle, 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.
Trombley carried the momentum claiming the tight 7-5, 6-3 triumph at no. 4 singles.
Junior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) secured the final point of the afternoon at no. 5 singles, winning the match 4-6, 6-1, 10-1.
The Blue and Red return to action on Wednesday, April 14 when they take on Bellarmine.
