HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's tennis team improves their win streak to 10 straight matches dating back to last season as they defeated Transylvania on Sunday afternoon, 6-3. With the win, Hanover remains perfect in HCAC action.
In doubles action, the duo of senior
Jed Fajt (Greencastle, Ind.) and senior
Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) claimed no. 3 doubles 8-3. Transylvania swept no. 1 doubles and no. 2 double but not without a fight as junior
Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and junior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) dropped a hard fought 8-7 match.
The Panthers dominated singles play as freshman
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) picked up a win at no. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2. The momentum carried as Asplund captured no. 3 singles 7-5, 6-3.
Trombley and teammate Garrison both found success in their singles match as they claimed victories by way of injury forfeits.
The final victory of the match came from Fajt at no. 6 singles as he defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-0.
The Panthers wrap up conference play on Saturday, May 1 when they welcome Manchester. First serve is slated for 12:00 PM.
