HANOVER, Ind. – Panthers complete the game two comeback as they swept Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Bluffton on Sunday afternoon.
GAME ONE
Hanover surged ahead early in game one as junior
Kiley Shedron (Cloverdale, Ind.) drew a walk in the bottom of the first inning that scored sophomore
Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.), 1-0.
The Panthers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the second inning as Hutchison reached on a fielder's choice to the shortstop that scored senior
Rachel Cox (Indianapolis, Ind.), 2-0. The final run of the inning came moments later as Hutchison got in a run down that scored sophomore Kenzie Bradley (Greenfield, Ind.).
The Blue and Red tacked on a run in the fifth inning as Dickinson charted an RBI that pushed the difference to 4-0.
However, Bluffton rallied back scoring two runs in the sixth inning before a bomb over the left field fence tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning.
Hanover remained poise as sophomore
Katherine Dickinson (Francisco, Ind.) deemed clutch at the plate with the walk-off RBI en route to the win.
GAME TWO
Hanover ran out in front as a Beurman single through the left side scored Bradley in the bottom of the first inning, 1-0.
Bluffton refused to go away as they capitalized on a Panther hiccup that led to a 3-1 advantage in the top of the third inning. But Beurman continued to dominate at the dish as she charted an RBI single that would score Bradley pulling HC within 3-2.
The Panther outburst came in the bottom of the fifth inning as Hutchison singled to the pitcher scoring Bradley before Ralston scored two more runs off an RBI down the right field line that sent HC to the 5-3 victory.
