Box Score CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Hanover men's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2021 regular season on Saturday afternoon as they ran past Mount St. Joseph 21-2. The Panthers finished the year at 7-4 overall, 6-1 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and will be the number two seed in the HCLC Tournament.
Hanover scored early and often as senior
Ian Kimmins (Dayton, Ohio) delivered the first blow just two minutes into the contest, 1-0. The scoring outburst continued as freshman
Nick Adams (Greeenwood, Ind.) made his way into the score's column when Kimmins found freshman
Zach Stone (Elizabethtown, Ky.) for the third goal of the opening stanza, 3-0.
Kimmins' impressive day continued as he completed the first period hat trick to extend the HC lead to 6-0 through one quarter of action.
The frenzy continued into the second frame as senior
Jackson Wheeler (Indianpolis, Ind.) provided back-to-back blows before completing his own hat trick with 5:16 remaining to push HC out in front 11-0.
Stone found freshman
Cole Finley (Louisa, Va.) for the next Panther strike before Wheeler closed out the stanza with another goal that saw Hanover take the 13-1 halftime advantage.
The third period saw the Panthers add eight more blows paced by Kimmins and Adams with two goal each, 21-2.
Hanover finished with a game-high 47 shots and 53 ground balls. Junior
Sean O'Meara (Lexington, Ky.) picked up the win in frame making three saves.
The Panthers return to action next week as they compete as part of the HCLC Tournament.
