NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Hanover advances to the Championship of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after defeating Anderson 5-0.
The Panthers opened the match sweeping doubles action as the team of junior
Keith Asplund (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and junior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) claimed no. 1 doubles 8-2.
The success continued as junior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Joel Keal (Louisville, Ky.) captured their no. 2 doubles match 8-4 before the team of senior
Jed Fajt (Greencastle, Ind.) and senior
Roger Trombley (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) completed the sweep with the 8-3 win.
In singles play, Keal took no. 2 singles 6-3, 6-0 to remain perfect on the afternoon.
Asplund rounded out the match as he won no. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1 en route to the victory.
Hanover advances to the Championship match on Saturday taking on Rose-Hulman. First serve is slated for 12:30 PM.
