COLUMBUS, Ohio – Hanover opened the weekend in Westerville, Ohio as part of the Pam Briggs Classic taking on Otterbein and Heidelberg. The Panthers dropped the opener with the Cardinals 3-0, before defeating Heidelberg 3-1.

OTTERBEIN
Set One
Hanover surged ahead early as they rattled off five straight points behind the serve of senior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.). The outburst continued as an junior Adrianne Vane (Indianapolis, Ind.) service ace saw Hanover capture the 11-4 difference. However, Otterbein responded scoring seven straight points to knot the score at 11-11. The Cardinals continued on the attack as they were able to regain the lead en route to the 25-20 set one win.

Set Two
Set two saw a back-an-forth battle before a series of Cardinal errors propelled HC in front 6-3. But Otterbein refused to give up as they were able to chip away and claim the 21-19 lead following a Panther miscue. They would secure the victory moments later as another Panther mishap sent Otterbein to the 2-0 advantage.

Set Three
The final set of the match saw Otterbein attack early before HC responded. Trailing 13-4, Hanover looked to erase the difference with Vance charting a kill but the Cardinals deemed to much securing the straight set victory 25-6.

HEIDELBERG
Hanover closed out the evening taking on Heidelberg in a four set thriller, winning the match 3-1, ( 25-18. 25-20, 22-25, 25-14).

The Panthers were led in the match by junior
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.) with 21 kills, while teammate Vance added 14 kills.

Ketcham chipped in an impressive game-high 49 assists, while adding 15 digs.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday competing as part of the Pam Briggs Classic taking on Mount Union at 10 AM and Capital at 12 PM.
