Hanover falls short in contest with Wabash

HANOVER, Ind.
– The Hanover men's soccer team welcomed Wabash on Saturday afternoon, falling in the non-conference match-up 3-1.
 
The Panthers were led in the contest by senior Fellipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with the lone Hanover goal. He also added a game-high six shots, while teammate senior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) added four total shots.
 
Wabash surged ahead in the opening half as they were able to find the back of the net in the 15th minute for the 1-0 advantage.
 
The Little Giants continued on the attack as they added an insurance goal in the 39th minute to push the difference to 2-0. Their final strike came late in the second half as they claimed the convincing 3-0 lead.
 
However, Hanover refused to roll over as they dealt a goal in the 78th minute to cut the difference to 3-1. The Blue and Red finished the contest with a game-high 22 shots.
 
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 22 when they travel to Ohio Northern. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
