Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball dominates HCAC rival Franklin

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's basketball team dominated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Franklin on Wednesday evening in front of an electric Collier Arena, winning the contest 81-57.

With the win, the Panthers move to 10-2 overall and 6-1 in HCAC action.

Hanover saw three players finish in double-figures led by sophomore Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a team-high 20 points. Sophomore Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) added 15 points while junior Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) chipped in 14 points.

The opening half saw a slow start when Munoz delivered hitting a three-pointer to spark a Panther run that propelled them to the 11-7 advantage. Hanover carried the momentum late into the frame as senior Noah Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) connected from deep pushing the Hanover lead to double figures when Franklin looked to rally. The Grizzlies netted back-to-back scores with just over a minute remaining. However, Hanover was able to combat the charge  and hold the 36-28 advantage at the intermission.

The second half saw the Grizzlies slowly chip at the deficit using a series of scores to cut the halftime difference to 55-43 with just over 10 minutes to play but Houston had other things in mind. The junior erupted the crowd with a dunk in the paint that swung the contest in favor of the Blue and Red.

The Panthers never looked back getting key scores by Hibbard and Greenamoyer down the stretch to claim the convincing 81-57 victory.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, January 15 when they welcome HCAC foe Manchester. Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
