Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) and junior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) finished in double figures on Wednesday evening to pace the Panthers past Rose-Hulman in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action, 55-43.
Houston connected for a game-high 20 points, while Hibbard added 10 points.
The opening frame saw a rapid start with both team's pushing the pace of play before sophomore
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) looked to slow it down with a runner in the paint that gave HC the slim 11-6 lead. Rose-Hulman continued to hang around as a series of layups knotted the contest before the Panther long ball became a factor.
Hanover showed off their range as Houston and junior Jack Winninger (Elnora, Ind.) connected for back-to-back three-pointers that swung the momentum in favor of the Panthers. Sophomore
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) delt the final blow of the first half sending HC into the intermission with the 27-19 advantage.
The three-point ball continued to fall in the second half as Houston connected at the 15:50 mark extending the lead to double digits before Hibbard showed off his range to put HC on top 46-32. Rose-Hulman looked to rally but fell short as Houston sealed the victory at the free throw line. Hanover finished the night shooting 20-of-54 (37 %) from the floor and 6-of-19 (31.6 %) from deep.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, January 29 when they welcome HCAC opponent Defiance to Collier Arena. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 PM.
