ALBION,Mich. – The Hanover Panthers hit the road this afternoon dropping a non -conference battle with the Britons of Albion, 17-6. Hanover moves to 0-3 overall on the season.
The Panther attack was led by sophomore
Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) with a team-high three goals on five shots. Teammate, senior
Milah Young (Granger, Ind.) added two goals while senior
Britney Hernandez (Louisville, Ky.) netted one goal.
In frame, senior
Delaney Benner (Indianapolis, Ind.) charted a game-high six saves through 60 minutes of work.
The Blue and Red found themselves trailing 4-0 in the opening frame when Masi McNally Henriksen dealt the Panthers first blow.
Their second strike would come as time expired in the opening half with Young finding
Masi McNally-Henriksen cutting the halftime deficit to 14-2.
The second half would see the combination reversed as Young took a pass from
Masi McNally-Henriksen that pulled Hanover within 16-3.
The Panthers scored the final three goals of the contest with Hernandez delivering on a man-up opportunity before Young netted her second blow of the afternoon. Masi concluded the contest with a hat trick as the Blue and Red fell 17-6.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, March 2 as they welcome Asbury to Alumni Stadium. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
