HANOVER, Ind.
– The Panthers ran past the Carroll University Pioneers on Sunday afternoon en route to the dominating 23-5 victory. With the win, Hanover moves to 2-1 overall.

Senior Josh Perkins (San Diego, Calif.), senior Dirk Meinhart (Elizabethtown, Ky.), and freshman Owen Cuniffe (Indianapolis, Ind.) paced the offense with four goals apiece, while freshman Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) and freshman Scott Dues (Louisville, Ky.) netted three goals.

The Panthers dominated from the opening face-off using a balanced attack to surge ahead 4-1 as Perkins led the attack with two first quarter blows.

Meinhart brought the pressure in the second stanza as he netted back-to-back blows that extended the Panther difference to 6-1 with 13:35 to play before the break. Carroll looked to steal the momentum as they hit a goal minutes later that pulled them within 6-2.

However, Perkins had other things in mind as he hit a wrap-around goal from "x" followed by a Cuniffe goal that sent HC into the intermission with the 9-3 advantage.

Kleinhelter and freshman Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) paced the Panthers in the second half as they dealt a pair of goals that pushed Hanover on top 11-3. The flood gates continued to flow as Dues made his way into the score's column sending Hanover to the 13-4 advantage with 7:00 minutes remaining in the third period.

The lead would reach double digits with sophomore Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) adding to the goal column with his first blow of the afternoon and Hanover never looked back tacking on six goals in the fourth frame securing the non-conference victory.

The Blue and Red return to action on Sunday, March 6 when they travel to Wabash. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
