Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomores
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville ,Ind.) and
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) turned in career performances to lead Hanover past Earlham in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon, 85-75.
Munoz finished with a career-high 33 points, while Greenamoyer netted a career best 28 points including eight three-pointers.
In what quickly became a highly emotional contest, Greenamoyer deemed the bright spot in the opening half. The sophomore helped spark the Panther offense connecting for a three-pointer at the 6:17 mark before Munoz dealt a blow of his own to tie the contest.
The deep balls continued to fall for HC as Greenamoyer found another three-pointer with just under five minutes remaining to give Hanover it's largest lead to date, 36-30. Munoz handled the rest sending the Panthers into the break with the 46-35 lead.
The second half would see more of the Greenamoyer and Munoz combination as the duo sparked a Panther run that propelled them in front 51-38 with just over 15 minutes remaining.
However, the Quakers continued to hang around when Munoz halted the surge with an old fashioned three-point play. But Earlham refused to roll over pulling within single digits when senior
Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) secured the Panther victory at the free throw line.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 9 when they travel to Franklin. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
