HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers captured an exciting overtime victory over non-conference foe Kalamazoo on Saturday afternoon, winning the thriller 10-9.
Hanover saw three players tally a hat trick in senior
Britney Hernandez (Louisville, Ky.), senior
Anne Breeding (Miamisburg, Ohio), and sophomore
Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.). Senior
Milah Young (Granger, Ind.) added one strike.
After falling behind 3-1, the Panthers responded using a three goal surge to flip the script in rout to the 4-3 advantage.
However, the Hornets continued to swarm pushing their lead to as many as three goals when Breeding delivered on a man-up opportunity.
The late game push continued with Hernadez finding the back of the net with just 5:59 remaining before McNally-Henriksen netted the game-tying strike to force overtime.
The overtime heroics came from the stick of Young who netted the gollden goal with just 16 seconds remaining to lift HC to victory.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, March 27 welcoming Heidelberg. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
