ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – The Hanover Panthers wrapped up the weekend with a two-game slate as part of the Pioneer Classic taking on Case Western and Wittenberg.
GAME ONE
Fifth year Lilly (Compton) Beurman (Evansville, Ind.) got the call in game one pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts through 24 batters faced.
Case Western capitalized early on a series of Panther miscues claiming the 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. They would tack on three more runs in the fifth inning pushing the difference to 4-0.
However, Hanover would look to rally in the sixth inning as junior
Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.) doubled off the center field wall scoring junior
Lexi Garloch (Salem, Ind.) but CWR was able to retire the side and secure the victory.
GAME TWO
Freshman
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the call to the circle in game two pitching a complete game surrendering just five hits.
The error plague continued to hang around as the Panthers found themselves on the wrong side of a two run advantage following a mishap in the top of the first inning.
The Wittenberg Tigers would tack on another run in the second inning and one in the fourth inning in rout to the 4-0 win.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 26 when they play host to Denison.
