HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover softball team welcomed Anderson in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon, taking game one 1-0 before falling in the nightcap 13-2.
GAME ONE
Freshman
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the start in game one pitching a complete game surrendering just three hits. The victory is the third of the season.
After four scoreless innings the Panthers broke the tie as freshman
Dani Steward (Shelbyville, Ind.) provided the clutch hit with an RBI to left field scoring junior
Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.) in rout to the 1-0 victory.
Steward paced the Panthers with one hit and an RBI.
GAME TWO
The nightcap saw the Ravens come soaring back as they used a three run third inning and a two run fourth inning to claim the 5-0 lead.
The Blue and Red got one run back in the bottom half of the inning as freshman
Carson Kruse (Fort Branch, Ind.) provided the RBI scoring Hutchison, 5-1.
However, Anderson was determined to secure the HCAC split plating eight runs in the sixth inning in rout to the 13-2 win.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 23 when they travel to Bluffton. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
