Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers claim the top seed in the "north" division of the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference on Saturday afternoon, defeating Anderson 14-6.
The Panthers saw three student-athletes chart hat tricks in freshman
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.), freshman
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.), and senior
Josh Perkins (San Diego, Calif.). Freshman
Owen Cuniffe (Indianapolis, Ind.) added two goals.
In frame, senior
Sean O'Meara (Lexington, Ky.) picked up the win charting 11 saves through 52 minutes of work.
After surrendering the first goal, the Panthers erupted netting three straight blows to surge ahead 3-1.
However, the Ravens continued to hang around netting two more first quarter strikes before a sophomore
Will Slover (Versailles, Ky.) goal propelled HC into the second frame with the 6-3 advantage.
The second quarter saw back-to-back blows by Kleinhelter and Perkins to bust the game wide open, 9-4.
Hanover never looked back netting five straight goals to win and secure the no. 1 seed in the upcoming HCLC Tournament.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, May 6 when they compete as part of the HCAC Tournament hosted in Chicago, Ill.
