Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers welcomed Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Anderson to Alumni Stadium on a chilly Saturday afternoon, winning the contest 7-6.
The Blue and Red were paced by freshman
Luke Haines (Lexington, Ky.) who provided the game winning strike with just 4:00 minutes remaining in regulation.
After falling behind 1-0, senior
Dirk Meinhart (Elizabethtown, Ky.) delivered as he took a pass from sophomore
Cole Finley (Louisa, Va.) in front of net for the one hop goal.
They claimed the lead later in the second quarter as sophomore
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) maneuvered the defense for his first strike, 2-1. But again the Ravens responded beating the Panther keeper for the equalizer.
However, Meinhart continued to show off his impressive stick skills as he connected for his second goal of the afternoon with just over six minutes to play before half, 3-2. The final first half strike came from the stick of freshman
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) as he lifted HC to the 4-2 halftime advantage.
The Ravens came soaring back in the second half using a three goal outburst to flip the script and claim the 5-4 lead.
However, Mr. Clutch Meinhart reigned through as he picked up a pass from sophomore
Zach Stone (Elizabethtown, Ky.) to tie the game before Haines delt the game winning blow. Sophomore
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) netted the Panthers final strike in rout to the win.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, April 16 when they welcome Earlham to Alumni Stadium. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
