Women's Soccer announces 2022 schedule

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's soccer team has announced their 2022 schedule with the season set to open on Tuesday, August 23 at Spalding under the guidance of head coach Jim Watts.
 
The non-conference slate will feature a slew of nationally ranked opponents including Denison Saturday, August 27.
 
The Panthers home opener is set for Thursday, Sept. 1 with Asbury.
 
Hanover then hits the road for regionally ranked Ohio Northern on Saturday, Sept. 3, who appeared in the 2021 NCAA National Tournament. The last meeting between Hanover and ONU saw the Panthers reign victorious at home, 2-0.
 
Hanover welcomes Kalamazoo to the Soccer Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 6 followed by Saint Mary's College (Ind.) on Friday, Sept. 9.
 
The Panthers then hit the road for a three-game road trip opening at Trine on Sunday, Sept. 1 followed by Capital on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Wittenberg on Sunday, Sept. 18. Hanover battled to a 2-2 tie with the Thunder of Trine a season ago before knocking off Capital in dramatic fashion, 4-0. The last meeting between Wittenberg and Hanover came in 2019 with the match ending in a 2-2 draw.
 
They wrap-up non-conference action on Saturday, Sept. 24 playing host to Kenyon College.
 
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 28 as the Panthers take on the Quakers of Earlham.
 
League play continues with a trip to Manchester on Saturday, Oct. 1 and Transylvania on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
 
They then welcome the Yellow Jackets of Defiance on Saturday, Oct. 8 before hosting HCAC rival Franklin on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
 
The last half of conference action will see the Panthers head to Anderson on Saturday, Oct. 15 followed by HCAC Tournament runner-up Mt. St. Joseph on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Lions handed the Blue and Red their lone HCAC loss in 2021, winning the match-up 1-0.
 
The Beavers of Bluffton will compete as part of the Hanover's last regular season home game on Saturday, Oct. 22 before wrapping up play on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Rose-Hulman.
 
The HCAC Tournament is slated to begin on Saturday, Oct. 29. with quarter-final action.
