LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The no. 18 ranked Hanover Panthers used a second half outburst to defeat non-conference opponent Spalding on Thursday evening, 3-0.
Hanover pelted the net with a game-high 20 shots, nine of which landed on frame. The Blue and Red were led by sophomore
Joao Lucas Domenici (Alphaville, Brazil) with a game-high two goals.
After a scoreless first half, the Panther offense erupted as freshman
Alex Farias (Louisville, Ky.) provided the first blow in the 64 minute to send HC on top 1-0.
The excitement continued as Hanover was able to draw a foul in the box that allowed for Domenici to connect on a penalty kick that pushed the difference to 2-0.
The final goal came in the 82 minute as Domenici once again delt clutch propelling the no. 18 ranked Panthers to the convincing 3-0 victory.
The Blue and Red held Spalding to just four total shots, zero of which landed on frame.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday when they welcome Berea as part of their home opener. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
