Football falls in non-conference battle at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Hanover Panthers (0-2 overall) hit the road for non-conference action at Adrian, falling to the Bulldogs 33-0.

Leading the way for the Blue and Red was sophomore Jeremy Gettelfinger (Jeffersonville, Ind.) with 49 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Under center, senior Matthew Weimer (Georgetown, Ind.) threw for 78 yards on 13 completions.

Defensively, junior Brody Luker (New Palestine, Ind.) picked up a team-high 12 total tackles with eight assisted stops.

The Panthers opened the contest on offense traveling inside Adrian territory before being halted by the Bulldog defense forcing a punt from the Adrian 49 yard line.

The opening stanza remained scoreless, but Adrian wasted little time finding the endzone in quarter number two. The Bulldogs scored at the 9:13 mark before adding a field goal as time expired in the first half for the 10-0 lead.

Adrian would go on to add 23 points in the fourth quarter en route to the convincing 33-0 shutout.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they welcome Olivet. Kickoff from Alumni Stadium is set for 1:00 PM.
