HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers dominated the Earlham College Quakers as part of their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday evening, steam rolling the Quakers to the convincing 9-0 victory.
Leading the charge was junior
Beth Cook (Goshen, Ind.) with her second hat trick of the 2022 campaign. Teammates, sophomore
Nora Ludwig (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior
Aidan Hiester (Seymour, Ind.) added two goals apiece.
The Panthers controlled the tempo from the opening kickoff as Cook surged into the box sheet just four minutes into the contest following a chip pass from junior
Cassidy Lett (Walton, Ky.), 1-0.
The domination continued with Ludwig adding a blow in the eighth minute following an assist from freshman
Kenna Patterson (Bloomington, Ind.), 2-0.
Ludwig and Cook linked up for another first half strike as Cook played a through ball to Ludwig for the 3-0 advantage.
In the 21
st minute, Cook deemed clutch netting her 10
th strike of the season before a junior
Aidan Hiester blow sent Hanover into the half with the dominating 5-0 lead.
Cook completed the hat trick just moments into the second frame, pushing the Panther lead before another Heister goal in the 51
st minute extending the Hanover difference, 7-0.
Freshman
Morgan Castiglione (Fishers, Ind.) and freshman
Olivia Patel (Batavia, Ohio) recorded their first career goals as the Panthers dominated Earlham, 9-0.
The 9-0 victory marks the team's largest margin of victory dating back to the 2019 season.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 as they travel to Manchester. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
