Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (12-4 overall, 9-0 HCAC) shot past the Spartans on Manchester on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent 73-53.
 
Sophomore Kady Clancy (Scottsburg, Ind.) netted a career-high 15 points while teammate sophomore Grace Bezold (Covington, Ky.) added 14 points.
 
The Blue and Red dominated the offensive side of the floor using a 10-0 run to capture the 20-5 first quarter lead. Senior Callie Wilder (North Vernon, Ind.) paced the surge as she netted back-to-back blows in the paint.
 
Hanover continued their offensive explosion as junior Taylor Heath (Fairland, Ind.) piloted the attack finding freshman Kylah Lawson (Columbus, Ind.) before connecting with Clancy at the 4:02 mark, 31-12. Junior Reese Sexton (Louisville, Ky.) capped off the first half scoring as she sank a free throw sending Hanover into the intermission with the 34-20 advantage.
 
The second half saw Hanover extend their lead as freshman Alexis Wines (Lebanon, Ind.) put together a run that gave HC the 46-29 lead with 4:11 to play in the third quarter. Hanover entered the final frame leading the Spartans 50-36.
 
The rest was history as Hanover outscored the Spartans 23-17 in the final frame to remain perfect in HCAC action.
 
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 18 when they travel to no. 3 ranked Transylvania. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
